So I bought a 40k mile 86 TType in outstanding condition a few months back. The car had some paint damage on the drivers door and the fillers were out, but other than that the car was incredibly original and bone stock. Here are some picture of the before, during and after.

here are the pictures during the refresh. Started out with only fixing the drivers door and blending it in. Ended up repainting the car. I am a bit over anal and my painter owed me some money - so it all worked out.

here are some of the in progress shots. the car physically had a about 3 scratches and 6 small dents on the entire car. It didn't make sense to repaint it but we ended up doing it anyways.

the car was fairly well disassembled for paint. here are some of the pics right after the paint was laid down and as assembly began.

here is the final product. i am still battling whether to put the emblems back on the car. I went in to tune it up and learned that it had original plugs and wires still in it. It still even has the screen up in the intercooler shroud. The car was so ridiculously stock.

I added some freshly refinished GTA wheels with black centers and polished lips. I learned that the car still has the original shocks on it too (i have to add that to the list of things to replace).

I put a new gas tank and fuel pickup setup in there, did the plugs and wires and threw a Jay Carter street chip in to make it a little more fun to drive. Would love to hear some opinions on putting emblems back on. I have a complete set of NOS emblems - just really liking the car looking fresh at this point.

Interior is also bone stock. Here are a few pictures of it. Just got the AC working. Had a vaccum leak at the back of the a/c controller. All is icy cold now. Threw the baby seat in and took my 2 year old out for a ride. She didn't want to get out :).Other than that - didn't do a thing to the interior. Just amazing.

Great job! She is great looking! Me personally, I like to keep things stock looking. The emblems would make it look premo in my opinion. But to each his own! You can always mock it up, take a step back and see if you like it. It is your car after all ;).

Personally i like the t type/intercooled emblems. I dont really like the regal emblems. The hood emblems are ok. I dont really like the trunk emblems.

Beautiful car. I just also picked up a 86 blue grey leather car with astroroof and a ton of options. I really really like the seats since they tend to stick out. I have had 3 sets of grey leather seats and seen a few more around but only had 1 set of tan leather sets and only 3 regals ever with tan interior its a very uncommon color.

Your car looks beautiful!!!! Whose bumper fillers did you use and any issues fitting them?

Great job!!!

I used NOS Fronts and Gbodyparts rear fiberglass. I need to redo the rears because I cut too much off when fitting them. The fit overall is really good other than where I went off with too much!

I agree with you too on the emblems. The tan interior is supposedly rare - only 50 turbo cars with it in 86. I had an 87 Limited that I converted to grey and actually parted out an 86 years ago that had the tan. This is the third one I have laid eyes on that actually had the tan interior. I saw an 86 about 5 years ago with the tan. It too was a white car that had an astroroof and digital ac. I couldn't afford it back then. Just sort of stumbled on this one when I was looking for a GN. Couldn't pass it up.

get some of that material that is stickey on one side and magnetic on the other ,that way you stick the emblems to it and then place them on the car magnetically, remember some guys did that so they didnt break the hood emblems when drying the car:smile:

thats a great idea. I am going to look into that.

I think a car looks much better with all of the emblems on and in the correct position.

I do love the car and it's personally my favorite color combo. I will own one someday!!!
