It looks good. There was little previous hard use by 52 year old M.D. who bought it new and sold it to me at age 74. It ran little or none for eight years.

What changes might I consider? I am adding the oil additive (ZZZP or something) at the next engine oil change

if it were mine I would follow the spring cleaning procedure...and go from there

I'm a firm believer in changing as many fluids as I possibly can in any new-to-me car I get. That's the only way you can be sure it was done. Plus, it's a great way to become more familiar with your car, you might notice other issues or atleast it's a good excuse to install other mods. In your case a shift kit would be a good idea.

Back in the day when a cars life was measured in years, not decades, if a car's tranny fluid was not changed in oh, say, ten years it was considered best not to change it because you would just be stirring up a bunch of muck that was best left encapsulated where it was.

Since my 87 has so little miles, it will have lack of use problems, not over use problems. I will change what I can. The rear end is getting the good rear end treatment. Once installed, how often should the rear end fluid be changed?

Mine is locking up a little now.
