87 t type no reverse

Drove car for first time in 1 month for about 30-45 min backed in driveway and this morning start car up to put in reverse and nothing check fluid, linkage, warm up drive forward a ok do I have a bad trans?

Installing a pressure guage on the trans to see what's going on will help diagnose the problem. Here's a few causes from an ATSG manual.
TV Cable -------------- Binding or Misadjusted
Manual Linkage -------- Misadjusted
Throttle Valve--------- Binding (VBody)
TV Limit Valve--------- Binding (VBody)
Line Bias Valve-------- Binding (VBody)
Reverse Boost Valve--- Binding in Pressure Regulator Bore (Pump)
Reverse Clutch--------Cracked Piston,Damaged Inner/Outer Seals,

I dont want to sound stupid but is the TV cable same as shifter cable? And how is it adjustable?

No, TV cable is hooked to the throttle body on the engine & right side of trans. Adjustment Info>>>>> GM TV Cable Adjustment Instructions

Thanks for info but I think its too late for my trans since I already had a hard shift problem to begin with so it might be a rebuild.
