Will these work on the 87 GN 8.5in rearend? I have a clipping out of a Car Craft magazine telling exactly what GM parts to use. Are the 4 bolt flanges on the housing ends the same on all GM rears? I know this set-up works on a 12-bolt. Am curious if this will work on GN rears.

nope- not unless you change the axle housing ends.
for some reason, G bodies, F bodies (except rear disc brake cars), and S series trucks from the 80's all used a screwy housing end that is different than every other midsize GM since the mid 60's. in the 90's, they went back to the old flange style.
that being said- i'm sure if you tried hard enough, you could make the stuff fit- you can, after all, buy bolt on kits using the very same parts you want to use from Baer brakes.

I have used the same kit from Baer before on a 12-bolt-it looks like just the caliper mounting bracket is different. If this would work,a system could probably built for $475 using all brand new GM parts.

you could call Baer and ask them if they'll sell you the proper brackets for a G body.
maybe tell them that you bought a used Baer setup for an old 10 bolt on e-bay and want to put it on your GN. or you could always get some 1/4" steel and make some brackets pretty easily.

You will need rotors too.

The 93-97 Camaro used 11.50" rotors, the Baer system uses 12" rotors, so the brackets are taller.
