How many guys are still running posi units in their cars?

I'm thinking either about a 30 spline Eaton or Detroit locker in the 8.5" rear end.

I know most will recommend spools.

Target is to run mid 9.80's in a full weight car.

Let me know how your differential are setup..etc.

Thanks,
John

Is this going to be a street driven car?? If so, I would not use a spool!

Chris Chow uses a detroit locker in his 3400lbs 8.5 @ 163 car.
He is going to switch to a spool this season. The locker has worked pretty well.

John,

Do you have Chris's number? I wonder if he'd like to sell me his detroit locker?

Thanks
John

If you are going to run 9's then you may want a few more splines, I run 33 spline Strange axles

I don't think Eaton or Detroit locker makes posi's with that man splines...

are you running a spool?

John

My dad ran 9.59 with a Auburn street posi and moser 28 spline axles. It held up for a long time in the 10's but once it went into the 9's it broke pretty quickly. He stepped up to 33spline axles and spool, thats definitely better for racing

Yes, I'm running a spool. Didn't know they limited the number of splines that low with a posi.
