Hey gang. Just getting around to posting our experience at the Nats this year. While just weeks away from BG, Alan, Andre, Jason & Brian thrashed on the 88ZNX to make sure it was finished in time. Finally everything was coming together. It was about 90% and the rest was left to Cal Hartline to put the finishing touches in the FAST system program. The night before we left, we washed and detailed the whole car. Even the engine which was never a problem with the V8:eek: The car acted stupid the whole time we were at the Nats. Finally we found the wet spots in alot of sensors and such. We quickly repaired and dried them out and found a bad cam sensor and a broken crank sensor bracket:confused: After we fixed it The car started to come to life. We found some spark plug (Buick Aluminum heat shields) and thought they would save our plug wires. We learned they were arking out on the headers!! So we took them off!! Russ Merrit made us up a cool set of wires. Thanks Russ!! We went to advance auto part and bought some heat shield wrap and fit them for the wire boots. Cal helped when he could, but had his hand full with other guys needing help as well. On the 3rd day, at about the last 2 hours of the meet, we finally got some passes in.Cal tweaked the program and the 1st pass we clicked off a 10.71 @ 123 1.59 short time with 15psi! On the 2nd pass Cal worked his magic and it ran a 10.71 @ 129 1.55 short time Picked up 7 mph!! Fast system recored 18psi somewhere in the run. After kidnapping Cal one last time, we were about to make the 3rd pass, and I left at 5 psi of boost and cut 1.68 short time and mid way through 2nd gear, the altenator failed and I lifted to an 11.84.

No matter how bad we thought WE had it, and I was getting pretty frustrated at our car's problems, all I had to do was look over at Otto and thought " Man that guy must have the patience of a Saint " I have never seen anyone at a race that has broken every part on his car and get it back together and STILL run a 9.20 and not loose his cool the whole time. That folks is awesome. Otto, if you are reading this, you sir, are one of a kind. Hats off to you. And to Cal Hartline for the tune, Eric Marshall for his input, and Jack Cotton for the new prototype Turbo we tried, and everyone under the Hartline tents that was having problems and over came them. Hope to see you all next year.

A&A Performance

Hey Alan.
It was good seeing you guys there. Wish I could have gotten up there in time to see your runs. Ya'll keep up the good work back home and keep me posted on your progress. Won't be long and you'll be deep into the low 10s and quicker.
Say hello to Andre and the crew for me.
