How come women in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, etc never have any white hair.
They are losing their youth, a trying to go back in time. A waste of money. Now my wife is 60 and stopped having her hair colored anymore. She has about 30% grey now. Wow I told her your doing some good. How about the 20g’s you have spent on wrinkle cream over the years. Oh know I can’t give that up. One of the few times I new better then to say, it ain’t working baby.

No weird shit, really doing better then expected. I don’t say that too loud, don’t want to jinx myself. I still hurt inside and out of my chest. But told that’s normal. I really, really hope I’ll be able to drive again. My wife said she is working on that. It’s going to happen! How do you know, just get better and it will happen, she knows something and isn’t saying. I hope. Thanks for asking

Grass Doctor and I are going 50-50 on this so you can wear it your first day out driving.

There is no better medicine than a positive outlook and some humor. Negativity breeds negativity. Hang out here, we got this. My Seriously hope your on the mend.

Some places around here aren't allowing the drivers into the building or to use the bathroom. They could grab a skid off your trailer and tell Joe to grab a laptop off the skid next to theirs. If they wouldn't let me use their toilet than they'd not get their delivery. Bunch of pussies.

Good people are freally stepping up and helping us out. The Flying Js are really our savior right now. I do it because I love it and have to help society out during this time.

Ya know, back in the day before the buck toothed faggot presidente signed the trucking deregulation bill (pos murderer ted kennedy's bill to get back at Jimmy Hoffa, the real one) being a truck driver was considered a respectable occupation. After a few years it let in a lot of shady characters. I remember going with my Dad back in the late 60s-early 70s and the truck stops were filled with polite company drivers many wearing uniforms. Then in the early 80s going into the same truck stops, the Green Shingle for one and you could hear every 4 letter word twice in 5 minutes. Many dressed like hermits and smelled like they hadn't a shower in months.
There's still plenty of good decent drivers out there but gosh, the industry has taken a real hit since the laws changed. And I blame 99% of it on the miiiighty teamsters-mesters onion. They did nothing to fight de-regulation, so called leadership was more interested in making deals to stay out of jail. In 1980 there were 550,000 union freight jobs and now I'd be surprised if there's 50k. Jimmy Sr. has to be turning over on a rotisserie in his grave now that his pos son has destroyed the NMFA.
Best of luck in a difficult industry and keep the shiny side up. 10/4 good buddy. :D

My brother, after retiring from the phone company, decided he didn't want to stay at home and went to a commercial driver training course. After completing the school he found a job with a national company. Anyway, after about 4 months driving, he gave it up, citing the exact reasons you said. He also said that most of the ones he met had bad teeth as well. He said he just couldn't get into it so he went back to the phone company.

Cant argue that trucking and truck drivers were better in the 60,70 and 80 s. I have been a mechanic for 40 years and always thought when I was done my wrenching I would be a service writer. In today's world i would kill a modern ignorant, arrogant customer. So as my body ages and things started to hurt I followed the only other passion I had, a career in trucking.
I had an Uncle that took me with him when I was a kid and it left a long lasting memory of it. So a few years ago I took a course and got my License. I got on with a company that treated us like crap and I told them to FO as I didn't need the money and i was going to give it up. A small local company called me and offered me a job and I am very Happy to say that 4 years later i enjoy every time I climb up in my big car.
I work for Brian Kurtz Trucking 3 days a week and still wrench 2 or 3 days a week and I love it. Other drivers ask me why I like it so much. I open the door to my Kenworth and say look inside. They look and say , what, there is nothing in there! Exactly ,just me. I like me, I get along with me, and at the end f the day I still talk to me.
While some of the reasons trucking is not respected is the modern drivers are not doing it becaause they want to or even like it. This shows with manors,t and how they present themselves. I do it because I want to. It is especially fun right now because we are treated so good my more of the public.
Well I gots to go,catch ya later boys(and gals)
Be safe and be kind to each other.

There's always a bunch of bad apples in every barrel....
Once any dude w/ a pr of cowboy boots, and a big belt buckle, could get a loan, for a tractor, the race to be an asshole extraordinaire started.
While I was in a regular job, I drove about 40K a yr, flew another 50K . Driving, I usually looked for the truck stop with the most trucks in it. That was a good clue the food was decent.
Then, in the last few yrs, it was the "lot lizards", that attracted the crowd! :D

May have changed and even worse now but it use to be an owner-operator lasted 6 months, right about when it was time for a new set of tires and it would bankrupt them. Freightbasket dealer had lots of 6 month old repos just waiting to be turned loose on someone that believed it was going to be like BJ and the Bear, lol. Lots of gorgeous women chasing you, spending nights in 5 star hotels, eating at the best gourmet establishments. In reality they got VD infested lot lizards, days in the sleeper berth waiting for a load and if lucky a flea bag motel with lots of bed bugs and dining at the best greasy spoons in the area.
Oh, and getting to listen to the most outrageous bullshit stories from other toothless wonders on the super slab.

You're very lucky to find a small company that treats you well. Plus with all the bs new regulations, expensive endorsements like hazmat crap every 5 years and just being a revenue source for the states and their highly paid AGWs who would want to enter that field.
Than the applicants they do get are about as desirable as the latest pandemic. I remember the safety guy at wegmans one day when talking to him that 1, maybe 2 applications out of 20 would even pass the drug test or have criminal record or both.
And stop right now with the K-Whopper (That's truck driver talk for Kenworth) stuff, we all know that Kurtz runs Brockway and Diamond Reo equipment.:LOL:

The KW is built to help keep the riff raff out of the Peterbuilts!

Like this one?
How about this? o_O
And everyone's favorite. :LOL::LOL:

The regulations and crap are the same in every job. I can tell ya the same and the politics being a mechanic at a dealership are crazy. I enjoyed winding the others up if I got bored.;) Kurtz trucks are KW and now Freightliners. The owner passed away last year and he could have had his own reality show, funny as hell. He was the last of the cowboys. His 4 boys run it now and they are hard working boys that treat us great and the equipment and employees are the top of the food chain. You have to do what ya love and love what ya do. I cant picture working in an office with humans, they drive me nuts. I wish I could have drove in the 70s with a KW W-900 !
Later guys and gals
