I was up at Capital Raceway this Saturday, and ran in to a kid (Luke) who was getting his first expsure to the T-Type world.

I see this slighlty beat looking black T-Type rollin in, badly in need of some TLC. So I go over and talk to the fella...

Turns out it's an 87 T with 120+ miles on it, paid about 4k, stock turbo, converter, etc. Bone stock except for a cold air setup, from what I could see. He had little to no idea about what was under the hood.

So, the kid tells me he's hoping it will run in the 14's. And proceeds to go out and bust off a 13.73. With a 2.3 60 ft on stock type tires!!!

When I went to congratulate him, he was beaming from ear to ear. I think we have a new addict on the way......... ( I gave him a few ideas ;) )

Luv these cars :D

cool and all to get someone new into our world, but that scares me that someone who knew nothing about the car took it to the track without doing any research.....he's lucky for several reasons :)

First thing I asked him was if he had a knock detector.

Response: huh?

Then I noticed, just sitting there idling, that his led boost meter was pegged. Obviously non, functional. I BELIEVE he had an aftermarket boost guage in the car tho....

Kid's got a lot to learn. But he was clearly excited about the possibilities. I started taking to him about the MODS I had done to mine, and he just lit up.

I just thought it was nice to see this youngster with an old beater, all excited because he just ran a better time than the new Mustang that ran against him. ( He lost to the Stang, because his reaction time was a 1.3 I believe, LOL!)

Deceiving as hell. You'd never think that thing would run.

Gimme a couple weeks with that car, and I'd have the kid driving his car with a constant woodie! ;
