I'm sorry for posting this in here but I don't know who else to ask. Since my GN is down b/c of the PM brakes I have to drive the 84GT.

The problem is it shifts through the gears too quick. When I first drive it in the morning its shifts ok but when it warms up it acts like it skips 2nd or doesn't want to stay in 1st after 5mph. This is causing the motor to cut out when it shifts to 3rd at less than 15mph. I would really like to get this resolved if possible b/c it looks like I am going to be without the GN for a week or two. Thanks for any help

First take a look at the TV cable, especially the bushings. it is very common to have problems in that area and is easy to fix. Otherwise these have lots of "issues".

Could it be something to do with the vacuum lines or modulator? The car has been setting for a while, only has 69k on it.

The AOD doesn't have a vacuum modulator. Most likely you have either a problem with the TV rod (worn or missing bushings, or out of adjustment), or you may have some lip seals that have shrunk.

2-3 accum is a known leaker

It could also be the fluid thinning out and jumping the governor rings on the output shaft. Before they with the coated rings, the old governor rings would start to wear into the case.
