What you gotta understand about a lot of buick guys is that most of them have true street cars, meaning lots of options, good manners, decent mileage, etc. The average street driven turbo buick is faster than the average daily driven mustang. The turbo buick is one a of a few cars that was turbo'd stock and easily modded to go 11's. If any manufacturer had the balls, we would have seen (and we will see eventually) bigger displacement motors with turbo's, and lets face it, like the 03-up cobra, when modded, they will flat out haul. Most guys who spend the money and time to turbo a V8 end up building a race car, like Andrews, and therefor you won't run into him at a light. What us buick guys run into is slow ass stock or lightly modded 'stangs that are barely capable of getting out of their own way. Everyone knows they can be pretty slow stock. Go to the corral, guys struggle with 12's. My buick ran 12's almost stock.
Had there been a turbo V8 option on GN's, we all know what we would be driving.![]()

Fact of the matter is that most of the mustangs I have seen people put turbos on still do not make the power some of us do.I have raced a blown LS1 and beat it...on pump gas no less.OOPs there goes the blown v8 argument.I have ran Nitrous huffing stangs and camaros and I have cleaned their clocks. So why is that?I mean it IS a V8 and it DOES have a power adder. What is your take on this SHOULDOFHADAV6?
The Buick v6 just seems to work better IMO because it was designed to.Besides most of you mustang punks try to rest on the v8 being bigger...just because you put a motor together and put a turbo on it doesn't mean it is going to work together. This is a matter of knowing what you are doing and not just racing magazine articles and dyno sheets.

Making a 30 mile cruise doesn't make it a street car by many standards. Hell, I'll drive John Forces funny car on the street until they pull me over. It still ain't a street car. Ask Andrew if he drives it on the street regularly. I speak to him on the phone every so often, trust me, he ain't driving it to work.

Oh yeah... I was at 3306# (much heavier than I'll be at the shootout).
And one more thing... THAT PASS WAS ON DRAG RADIALS!!!!
