Aaarrgg Termites!

I found a bunch of termites in the door frame of my den so I proceeded to take a circular saw and completely cut the infested area out and vacuum up the run aways So now it's remodeling time These little bastards are getting the best of me but I have Orkin quoting me tonight and Terminex was suppose to call yesterday but never did

Anybody have good or bad things to say about how to get rid of the little bastards? I live on a concrete slab so no basement or crawl space.

Hold onto your wallet when you get the quotes. Lots of labor involved for the bug man. Drilling through the slab Etc. Cost me $600 6 years ago. Good luck

Just went through this recently and we too live on a concrete slab. House less than 5 yrs old. Terminex was about $2000 for the treatment but that covers lifetime of the dwelling should they return. Ouch! That was an unexpected bite for us! They can sure make a mess of things and stay hidden. Watch out for those swarmers after treatment! Can you say shades of a bad dream!!

I've heard from others around work who paid $500 to $2800 for treatment so I am planning on selling the GN to pay for it..

If I have to I'll pay $1000 but I HOPE I don't have to..

Have any of you had them return???

Buickboy, did they just drill the concrete and spray or did they also drill/spray outside too? How well did that work for ya? I am hoping that drilling inside and outside will be around $500 and take care of it..

Kevin I have a termite damage repair division in my construction company , I have Orkin , Massey , Terminix and about nine other smaller companies that I have been doing business with for many years.
If you like send me your phone number and I'll call you and give you some good info on termites and termite companys before they sell you on a system.

Orkin quoted me $2100 tonight for baiting and ground treatment which consists of drilling slab every 12" around interior walls and spraying under slab then trench around foundation and pouring chemicals in the trech.. Cha-ching!!!!
Terminex hasn't quoted me yet..

Thanks for all the info! I found a private guy here that uses Termidor and he will trench and deep probe 3ft down every 12" around the house and drill a "few" areas in the house if I want for $480-$500.. Scheduled for next Wednesday!!
