Well, I had a cold R-12 system....... until I stopped at a traffic light the AC got warm, compressor locked up and the clutch started smoking.
. I know I need to replace the compressor. Now what else should be done along with this. I'm assuming the reciever/dryer/accumulator should also be changed at the same time? How about any o-rings in the system, do the new components come with new rings to seal everything up? I've done some research here and decided I'm going to go with Freeze 12 fof refrigerant. How about oil in the system? Do new compressors come with an oil charge already, or will I have to add some? Can the condenser and evaporater be flushed and blown out with anything before I reassemble the system? What about a variable oriface? Will it be of any benifit to me since I will not be going to R-134a? Sorry for so many questions, just trying to do it right the first time. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
