AC/heat/vent problems

Lately when I turn on the heat/AC/vent, the air blows out of the top of the dash for about 30 seconds-1 minute, then slams (really loud) into place. Also, when I hit bumps, a loud squeek occurs. Could this be related? and is the vent thing easy to fix "(I'm guessing it's just getting stuck somehow). I've heard you have to take the whole dash off to access that though (?) Thanks

For the bump and squeak try applying some white lithium grease to the rubber bumper at the roof support between the two windshield wiper blades. You can't miss it. If it is dried out and not lubed it will make that squeak over bumps.

Vent might take a bit of work to fix. I'd wait for it as long as it's still working.

Just got throught taking mine out of my Limited.

Best advice I would tell you is to watch the clips when you pull the face plate off. And to pull the radio. to give working room.

It is a pain to do. but if you're patient. And mark what came from where. You'll be fine. Was only my second one. Works great now.

I would alsso put the grease on moving mechanical parts as well as what was mentioned. Didn't know that one.....
