Anyone ever seen it done with our type AC pumps? I wouldnt mind a little 1 or 2 gallon tank in my trunk for an emergency or whatever.

autolift sells a portable compressor for air bags that mounts in the trunk -i have a good used one if you re interested-hooks up to 12volts.

Its not to bad to do, and the rotary type of Compressor we use is pretty effcient.

The key is what 87GN_70GS said, it needs to be oiled.

Use an Inline Air Tool Oiler.

I got mine at harbor freight for 13.99

and on the discharge side, use the harbor frieght water oil seperator. 19.99 with coupon until the 19th.

Sickkk, AJ have you actually done it to a buick? If so I demand pics! Yea I figured it would need to be oiled. Just glad there is something out there for it.

Anyway, I dont want an electric pump I just thought that since the AC pump is there I could use it and kind of have it for a novelty thing.

LOL, no Ive never done it to a buick, but I dont see why you couldnt!

Ive helped a couple of my off road friends that use that same AC compressor for there on-board air. I have been debating the use of a system like that for my airbags, would give me more hopping ability.

I have been following your build on your chevelle, and that is one Kool swap. awesome way to think outside the box. i say go for it, makes for way high street freak value and is jut neat.

Dodge uses one on the new Challengers. It is mounted in the trunk area. I don't know how much but maybe take a look see and price. Another idea? HTH Gene
