Hi All,

The Extender chip has a few functions that can be programmed, but one of the things you have to utilize to bring up the proper field to change is the AC on/off switch. Well, I had my AC tested last year, and all was well according to that shop 'cept needing a charge which I ended up not doing.

Anyway, my AC switch isn't functioning to get me to the required field I want to make changes in and I am just wondering if it is "bad" or just not working because of low pressure in the system? Anybody know?

Can I just do the "ECM switch install" Bob mentions in his instructions for climate control cars? Anybody know this procedure?

Thanks a bunch!

Why not just unplug the connector at the accumulator/dryer and jump it? easy - quick - DONE.

If you're going to leave it jumped while you drive around, unplug the switch connector on the compressor. Temporary will be OK.

Thanks, Zam... I didn't know you could do that! That was easy enough! :)

No prob.
Had to ask that myself at one time. Just passing on what I've learned

Don't drive for very long UNLESS you unplug the compressor.
You'll burn it up if it runs much with out a charge.

OMG I havent read that about anything woth the AC swith to set something..what are you trying to set with the AC? I have the extender allso but havent run across that but havent gotten all hooked up either

National,

I believe it depends on which revision you have. I have the "E" which allows you to change some settings in the chip. Check the last page of your chip features/instructions and it should be there, if you have an "E". Jay
