My 86 Gn had one in it when i bought it, and it cooled poorly. I took it out and put a stocker back in and it's been a LOT colder. Remember when switching to R134A to lower the cycling switch cutoff pressure to ~22 psi instead of the stock 28.:)
 
There's a flat blade adjuster screw between the terminals on the switch. I think CW raises cutoff pressure and CCw lowers it.
 
so even if i use real r12, r12 equivalent, or 134a, the vov isnt really gonna do what they say it should?
