Looks like I will have to bite the bullet and get my spare tranny rebuilt for use in my daily drive.
Here's a list of issues with the current tranny - Is it salvageable? Can I make these repairs w/o getting the entire unit rebuilt? It was rebuilt by a "novice" so to speak ~3k miles ago.. I have tinkered with the TV cable incessantly, no leaks, fluid is clear and unburnt
1. Won't go into 4th gear w/o slightly lifting throttle.
2. Won't shift at all @ WOT - hits rev limiter (scary)
3. ECM doesn't report it being in 4th gear when it IS in 4th gear (Turbolink)
4. Lately it's making a grinding sound when put in gear.
5. Torque converter won't lock until 65MPH - even though ECM requests it @ 45MPH (Jim Testa chip)
6. Might be me, but it feels like it's slipping.
Shifts well during regular city driving, shifts get sloppier as RPMs and boost increase.
