Acts Like CCCI Coil Ign Module But???

Car starts and runs fine until it reaches operating temperature but then it falls on its' face with backfires that sound like shot gun bangs. Car is dead until it cools down for about an hour. Plugs will not fire during this cool down period. Was thinking that the CCCI ignition module and/or coil pack were bad but backup does not fix the problem. Both coil packs ohm in the 12,000 range with no more than a 500 ohm difference. Have tried a different ESC knock module, computer chip, bypassed timing feature of translator plus. Nothing helps but time.

Please advise other possible causes for loss of ignition.

Could be fuel related...........fuel pump, filter. That's usually what happens when the fuel pump is junk........seems to run fine right after startup, but soon after will fall on it's face.

Change the coil could be breaking down from engine heat. Same thing happened to me. The car ran great when cool but warmed up ran like poo.

Problem Found

Turns out that the problem was not heat related. Check of coil pack, module and wires with Casper's tester proved that these items were OK. Crank sensor also passed the test. Problem was the cam sensor. The screw for the interuptor ring portion of the rotor had worked its' way loose causing the interupter ring to bounce around and get out of sink with rotor keyway. First time I have had one do this. Guess the ten minute trial starting intervals helped re-align the rotor just enough to allow starting.

That little screw got coated with red loctite. Anything to avoid another work shop in the middle of the street.
