Advantage/Disadvantage to shroud on stock intercooler

Just pulled my stock intercooler out and cleaned it. Since I lowered my front end the shroud hits speed bumps, so it cracked and I need to repair it. Until then, is there any disadvantage to running without the shroud??

Yes, it's needed as the bottom of stock IC is above any airflow without the shroud.

And, at only about 58% efficient when new, it needs all the air it can get....
