Anyone out there installed an aftermarket shifter into your car. I came across an old "how to" article in the Turbo Buick Newsletter written by Mark Giusti. He shows the instal with a hurst Quarter Stick. You do have to "modify" your existing console to make it work. It looks great and probably sturdier than the stock unit.
Any body have an opinion on this? Any other shifters, online instructions, etc.
Thanks

i read some where you can install hurst lightning rods i dont know what mods would be nessasary

I haven't heard of doing Lighting Rods, but I guess anything is possible once you start to modify the console. I'm still having trouble with the idea of hacking mine up. I've looked into getting another spare console to modify, but then the price of the project goes up $150+. What a great time of year to spend cash.

Bruce, That shifter looks great. What all comes with the $450. price tag? Instructions for install in a TR?
Thanks,
Steve

Lot of work.

Mainly a drive in price. I have a hard time cutting consoles so I ALWAYS pull the original and use another maybe flawed in some way so that EVERYTHING at any time can be replaced back to stock. I could tell you how to do it and supply you with the plates and what not, but it is Alot of tedious work to make perfect. I am not typing it however so after holidays call.
