I am getting rid of the factory air box. My problem is how and where to mount the Air Temp Sensor? I bought the aluminum maf pipe from kirban. I don't want the drill any holes into the new pipe and I don't know if the maf is a safe place to mount it (I don't like the idea myself). From the end of the maf to the a/c lines is bout 6 inches and i need to install a filter too? I am planning on putting in a K&N cone filter?

Hopefully in my picture you can see the air temp sensor wire leading to the sensor which is screwed into a hole I made in the neck of the K & N filter. Arrow points to it.

tuck it away but keep it dry if you cant put it in the neck of your filter.

Hey Senior,

Did you just drill a hole into the neck? I got the maf pipe in and hooked up the the maf and the K&N filter (like yours) but didn't mount the ats yet. It would be great if the wires were long enough to get the sensor to the end of the cone filter so I could mount it there. Can the ats just be sitting somewhere near the filter and be accurate enough?

I prefer the ATS in the air stream which is why I drilled a hole in the filter neck. Granted, it doesn't have much control over anything other than at the extremes of temp, but I still prefer it working as designed.

Most do the hole in the filter. I got tired of the A/C line rubbing the filter so I made this. It's just a 3" AL intercooler piping with a bung welded in
