akir/water intercooler on a hot air.

i got an idea at the Car Craft show in St Paul yesterday- why not run an air/water intrcooler like on a Syclone/Typhoon on the hot air cars? seems to me that it would be easier to route the water lines and package the heat exchanger in front of the rad and also to put the intercooler on top of the engine with only about a foot of total piping after the turbo which would help with the boost lag thing..
