Okay, I am just installing Julio's Alky kit, hopefully wrap up this weekend with the install and then start tuning.
I am wondering about the base octane of gas to use. Where I am at almost all stations have only 91 octane max. I bought 5 gallons unleaded 110 octane which I have been running, adding 1 gallon to 12-15 gallons 91 oct. According to charts, raising the overall octane to 93. I carry a gallon container in the trunk when I know I will be filling up.
My question comes in with tuning on the Alky. Should I not mix the gases anymore and just run 91 oct and tune the Alky system with that? or should I continue to boost the octane to 93 like I have been doing?
If I tune with base octane of 91, would I just be using more meth to compensate?
Or should I just keep doing what I am doing so I have a base octane of 93?
Thoughts? I'm just thinking of eliminating a step if its okay to do it.
