I'm having some trouble with my thrasher 93 chip ,the car starts surging and bucking at about 4800rpm with or without boost or alky when I change to a RA chip the problem goes away. This may or not be the fault of the chip but I have heard there are better chips out there for alky systems. Can anyone give me some advice as to who's chip I should be buying. My combo is as follows-GSCA,200-200 cam mild ported heads&intake,GSCA valve springs,PT-51,TH-DP,ATR 2.5 duels, stock IC,Blue tops.Razors alky kit.Any advice would be apprieciated. DAVE

Eric at TurboTweak makes great alky. chips. :)

Translator+ with Extender Chips also work well when you get the 98-100 octane version, assuming you have or want to change to the LS1 type MAF sensor.

What was your fuel pressure set at?

What is your BL reading while the car is going down the road.. not idle?

What is your O2 readings at WOT?

The thrasher has a bl lock at 128 for WOT. So you can give or take fuel as you wish using the fuel pressure regulator. But this assummes the bl tables are working correctly. Look into the thread "tuning" here on this section similar scenario.

Drop your FP to 41-40 line off... and see how it responds. If it still has surging, I bet its a vacuum leak creating the havoc.

For custom chips Eric Marshall and Bob Bailey make the best chips. But it assummes the car is running correctly. The best chip in the world cannot fix a vacuum leak.

On the chip that kinda works..whats the BL reading at idle?

The thrasher locks the bl to 128 at idle, hence why I dont ask for it.

Report back.
