I just wanted to send a warm shout of ALOHA to the people who keep this board alive. It’s taken awhile to gather my thoughts together on this, and thought that today, Valentines Day would be a great day to share this.
I’d like to say thank you to the moderators, vendors, and the members for creating and sustaining a wonderful board. Here in Hawaii, there are not a lot of places to go when having problems with our cars. The race car communities here are sectioned off in 2 groups, Imports and Domestics. The hype here is the import cars, and they can’t help too much in regards to our Buicks. It seems that they don’t understand the Buick anatomy very well. They know they get whooped and give us respect but, they won’t go out of the way to help the competition. The domestic race shops don’t carry parts for our cars; sure they carry minor stuff like slicks, plugs and things like that, but no special parts indigenous to our cars.
The only place for us to turn happens to be in cyberspace. Turbobuick.com, this board, and the people surfing (Who would have thought we’d use the word surfing to describe something more then a wave and a board.) I’ve met a lot of great guys here and because of that; I’ve traveled to Vegas just to shake those hands. Too me, this board has even become somewhat international, since it’s allowed me to meet fellow Buick owners from Canada. “Those brewsky sucking Canadians consume more alcohol than BADGUY6’s SMC eh”. The Hawaii guys I’ve become friends with are truly “Da Best” people I’ve met. They support and encourage me to always go faster. Sure when something goes wrong and breaks, they’re the first ones falling flat on there face laughing but, the main thing is that they’re there.
I’m having a great time with my car, my new friends and its due in large part to turbobuick.com. No other way for me that this could have happened. Sure there are a few other boards out there and they’re good too, but none have developed the amounts of resource of people that this board has acquired. Amidst all the controversy and negativity I’ve seen in the resent past, I’d like to just show my support and appreciation to this site, and say thank you to the guys that make this board (and my car) happen.
ALOHA and MAHALO!
