you can use a variety of tps sensors from 3800's in the junkyards

i think i got one off a 3800 series I motor

you might have to switch pins but.. its not a big deal.

holly does!!! i got one for my hot air once and it lasted and it is on my 87 engine now and still working geat. dont remember the pn something like 35-xxx.

I dont think you can do that. The hot air TPS rotates the opposite of the more common IC & 3800 TPS. I cant think of any other car that rotates the same. Looks like it is GM or the aftermarket.

........ i have one on my car dude

the very earliest I's have them i believe.

the same I's that have the 86/87 crank sensor on them.

i have two tps that came from a junkyard 3800. this i know for a fact.

Part# hly 543-29 $35.69 from summit.

I also went to the junk yard and found numerous tps sensors that rotated the correct way they were 20 bucks each I acquired 6 just so i would get a good one. Tried all six and could not get voltage above 3.5 so i bought the holley and it works great. The vehicle i found the junk yard tps were caddys if you were curious.

thanks for the replies I feel better that they are readily available in the yard

The junk yard ones did not work for me.

probably because you got them off caddies and not buicks like i did.

Could be, do you remember what years and models the cars were, it would be nice to have a spare.

i checked this part# on www.summitracing.com and came up with a TPS sensor for their Pro-Jection setup. in the pic, it shows a sensor with the connector angled at 90* from the two bolts. this would not work on our setups would it? hopefully its just a generic pic they use for all their TPS sensors

just wondering if anyone has this exact part and if it will fit my car. i dont wanna spend the money, have the part shipped, and then find out it doesnt work

The part # i stated is what is on my 85 which is stock in relation to the tps and yes it is angled 90 degrees to the front of the car.
