Otto, how you doing?Do you know the diameter of the stock shaft by
chance, and does anyone know any body on the left side of the country that does them, thanks.

Ron

Price

I purchased about 5 years ago. Then it was $400-$450. Not sure what today's prices are. Give them a call. They were real helpfull. They have all the demensions and can make it bolt in with you measuring anything. They were local for me so that helped, I just picked after work one day. They made me a complete new shaft with everything on it. There was no turn around time then. Only reason I can see for a turn around time is if they are using some of the parts from your current shaft.

I got the steel unit in about a week i wish i couldve afforded the aluminum though mines NICE!!!!!

Otto, that price doesn't seem like you're getting the beefier Yoke and 1350 Spicer which IMO is mandatory at your speed.

+1 on the Dennys, 3.5" aluminum ordered and arrived in under a week, they already had all measurements they needed too.

It is with a beefy yoke and HD u joints,Not 1350,We are not changing the
rear yoke

I wonder what kind of power they have been tested too.
Maybe Brian will chime in wih who manufatures them and what
material they are made of.

I may be wrong but i think my steel only weighed like 15lbs. may have been more but i really believed it was 15. i read somewhere that a carbon fiber (for lighter cars i suppose was only like 6-9lbs.:eek:

precision shaft technologies in clearwater, fl...

Mine werks well..

I just called them (they're local to me)...429 for 3.5" aluminium with cryo treated U-joints and trans slip yolk...and they said they can most likely crank it out in a day!

Question;
I realize that any reduction in rotating weight is BIG for performance, but;
What performance increase can one typically expect from an AL driveshaft?

I recently read in GM High Tech Performance that because of it narrow diameter, any weight reduction associated with the driveshaft is considered to the same as any non-rotating weight reduction.

I am going to upgrade to an aluminum 3.5" as well. My questions is when is it necessary to upgrade to the 1350 yokes? Pinion yoke? PST said there is no price difference for the 1350 ends. 1350 pinion yoke sales for $140.

The info I have claims the stock yokes are larger than 1330 yoke called a "3R series" that can hold to 600-700 HP. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Wonder what the low ten second high 9 guys are running for yokes stock or 1350?

PST said also they did not have the measurement "W" on file. Precision Shaft Technologies, Driveshafts 101

I ‘m wanting to order a DS from PST, but have the engine and trans out of the vehicle. Can someone please post this measurement?

Thanks

I literally just measured mine 2 hours ago...PST wanted to verify. It matched what they have on file: 54.25" from the rear trans seal to the center of the rear U-Joint.

PST must have some questions...because they told me they had the measurement on file but that they've had some problems with it not being right on some cars.

I misread what you typed...my measurement is X not W

OK,

Are you going to measure "W", I guess they need that measurement if you are going to get a billet pinion yoke.

Any chance you could measure W?

Thanks

thaey are local to me and have made us MANY through the years. they used to make our Buick driveshaft when we stocked them. Never had a problem and they stand behind anything they make.
