Went into the trans. to freshen. Put in Alto wide band & Alto directs & OD clutches. Had a prob. with the press. while the car was on the stand so I swapped pumps & it had 90 psi with cable off & 270 psi @ max TV in all ranges.

While driving it shifts firm up until about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle then it starts to get softer. I figured with that press. I would have a very hard shift.

I'm going to put the guage back on and drive it maybe the press. is falling off with RPM, I've had that before.

Not good press. drop to 120 with more RPM & slightest accel.

I thought with this pickup which is almost on the bottom of the pan I would see good press. on accel.

I've had this press. prob. since I built this trans. wasn't this bad though, some thought maybe the pump slide spring was too weak. Changed that along with the TransGo pump rings. The only thing that seemed to help before was 424 trac. fluid.

The press. hot with the car in park or N was 240 max TV @ 1500 rpm 90 min TV , but does start to drop @ about 4500 rpm not to 120 though.

Put the stock filter back in & now I have the press. back but the shift points dropped about 500 rpm. So much for the rear pickup idea maybe it wasn't sealing in the pump.

Now to swiss cheese the gov some more.
