Is it normal for the 200 4r trans to not take forth till 55 mph? Its been along time since I have messed with one of these. I freshened the trans and installed a transgo HD2 kit. Car shifts really good but takes 4th at 55 everytime. It did this before the build also. The car is for cruise in and car shows it really would be nice to get it around 45 under light throttle. During the install of the transgo I was reading about lighting the governor the on in the can is already very small compaired to the picture.

i had the same thing happen with my 200 + i also used the hd2 kit from trans go i left it alone since i would'nt drive the car much but it would shift firm and it took up to about 50+ to shift into 4th

Got another governor out of a spare. Works great now. I have been building the normal G.M. trans for years. The governor is very unigue with the check balls instead of a valve. [/B]BE VERY CAREFUL GRIND ON THE GOVERNOR WEIGHTS[/B]. It will cause it to wait really long for 4th.
