All things equal, what does 1mph equate to in ET(1/4 and 1/8)? Granted I know there are some variables, but I'll geuss .2-.3s? Or is this impossible to do?

I always went by the rule.....10hp=1mph=1/10sec...it may be off, buts its the closest rule of thumb that I know of

Just note that the rules of thumbs are relative to a car's overall performance. For instance, to increase you quarter mile MPH from 64 to 65, will not lower your ET by 1 tenth of a second. Conversely, going from 124 to 125 prolly will. FFT

For a ten-second turbo regal, yes. (I do 100-102 in the 1/8 and 122-124 in the quarter, on average).

I've actually heard 20 and 25 mph.....but it seems that the 25 is more accurate for the slower cars, and the 20 is more accurate for cars 10's or faster

Well, using this "rule", one of my cars trapped 86.24 in the 1/8mi. so, my 1/4mi. should be ~111mph(and high 11sec 1/4mi.)? That seems alittle quicker tthen I would have thought, using the other as a constant(20mph) I would have about 106mph trap speed. Which seems closer.

1/8 mile mph* 1.25-1.27 should get you close to 1/4 mile mph.

1/8 mile ET* 1.58 should get you close to 1/4 mile ET. The multiplier can vary greatly depending on the car setup and launch, but a TR that hooks well should be around 1.58

also people that lock their converters have a higher mph multiplier since the converter is locked for the 3rd gear pull to the traps.

Hey Fellas

My god, you guy's are to technical!:D I just go by what's on the time slip.;) Maybe one day I will learn all this stuff, maybe.

my turn to mess it all up..:D

my last pass was 100.78 in the 1/8 and 127 in the 1/4

next pass better be good with all the work im doing on it now

1.84 60 ft but it did not spin at all

i came out the gate at 0 boost with 2800 converter and 70 turbo so it didnt hit boost good till about the 60 ft mark
