I contacted the guy in charge of sales and research at bullseye power and he said he can make the ballmowheel billet for any turbo depending on the turbo size and combination, he recommends anything above a .67 and dual ball bearing would be worth it because the power increase would be substancial, it doesnt have to be a 4 bolt flage either since the only change that we are going to make is the compressor wheel, minimum order is 25 wheels, with a cost of $300 per wheel and total setup fee of $,1200 to machine the wheels, divide that amoung 25 wheels thats about $348 per wheel, if anybody is interested in purchasing one of these post up.

You will need to machine the compressor cover and possibly the backing plate too. It will need vsr balancing if it's a not a journal turbo. Probably a $700 round trip.

If there was a 3" V Band DP that we all could use with the 4 bolt, it would make this easier to covert over. The DP throws another wrench in the conversion which is why more of us don't jump ship, we can't fab our own DPs. :(

I'd be curious what the final cost would be after Bisons recommendations, anytime you alter something that spins over 100k rpm, you need to make sure it's going to stay together.

Maybe BEP will see a market here and work with Vendors to recoup over a period of sales vs the upfront? I believe a Vendor in the past tried getting them over here a few years ago and the #'s just weren't there.

The billet wheels can be run at very high speeds without concern about bursting. If I planned on running one with 100mm or larger exducer over 80000rpm I'd still want it vsr balanced even if a journal. Looks like all that will likely be achieved is higher mass flow potential with smaller compressor inducers. I really find it hard to believe a compressor wheel by itself with no other changes will increase power significantly at the same usually low pressure ratios I see people on here run. If you look at the compressor maps for the real efficient Garrett wheels they usually peak around 80%. that's before intercooling/meth injection. I see below ambient temps in both my cars under full power. Backpressure and ability to make more boost is what I seem to hit.

buy a v band elbow, chop off top of your existing or buy another one to make your own. the v band shorts are under $100

I have the batmowheel on my car and have posted a few videos. While I am still on a bone stock engine aside from cams, the gains have been amazing over my old GT42-76.

Similar built engine Supras are making 8XXrwhp @ 30psi and mine made 941rwhp with a stock engine.

And for those of you wondering if the design works, take a look at this video on GE's new turbine wheel designs:

Hope this helps. If there is enough demand for these in buick 3 bolt application I am sure I can make it happen.

Kirk are you a BEP dealer then? If so, maybe BEP will tell you a specific # of turbos they need to sell upfront to make the time for this to happen. I guess it can start there.

Also curious on what they'd do about the exhaust housing, put it in the Garrett maybe?

Yes I am - If there is enough demand I can see what we can do :).

Kirk saw that you also sell the Borg Warner EFR turbos, so .....

Which one is staying on your Supra, BW or BEP?

We have 2 Supras between the wife and I, she is getting the BW and I am sticking with the BEP. All BEP turbochargers are BW based.

I would of already had the EFR on my car and tested if it weren't for the delays in shipment. We should start seeing more of the EFRs out in the wild next month. :)

This BEP turbo is causing me to have to build my engine..... the power is addicting!

I started a thread here about the EFR not long ago and that turbo is probably an easier transition for us due to the internal wastegate and that it has the blowoff in it too (since Buick didn't design one into our platform).

Kirk, does the BEP Batmowheel use the Gamma Ti exhaust wheel that BW uses in the EFR?

Also, is it me or does the BEP exhaust housing with all those holes in it look like our DP's would bolt onto it? IF so RJC already has that DP flange available with the big 1.65 puck.

The BEP uses a 4" Vband for the turbine outlet.

The BEP S374 is equivalent to a BorgWarner S400SX turbo with a new compressor wheel. The BW EFR turbos are a completely different line as they are all ball bearing and have a lot more bells and whistles. I'll be getting my hands on the big boy EFR turbos early next month. The largest one offered so far (EFR9180) has a 67mm compressor.

Unfortunately none of the EFR turbos are available with a 3 bolt flange. You'd have to use a 3 bolt to T4 flange.

My Percison GT-71 3 bolt 4 inch inlet on my steel main stock block with stoker kit Haul's Ass !!!! Bonus, the factory cover fit's over it,less the 3 inch down pipe notch...8^)..My motor area looks factory less the Larger Pipes!

LOL ^, we're all pumped about turbos in here, regardless.

Kirk, is the exhaust housing pic in the 2nd row, #2 a T3 housing then?
It says in the chart 6 bolt, but that that momma has 9 holes in it?
Bullseye Power Turbos

Also, are the housings from 310100-10 .90 on up all twin scroll?

Just in case we never see these in a 3 bolt we can plan out the 4 bolt route easier.

Oh,my bad,this isn't a 70mm turbo thread...heh..there's big turbo's in the 3 bolt size,it's nice factory sleeper look,4 bolts are for die hards...8^)

Enjoy!

i dont think the discussion is about the biggest turbos out.... we are talking about newer, more efficient compressor designs.... and if they would trickle down to 3bolt units or if people would have to switch to 4bolt headers in order to use them.....

back on topic... i am sure if you bought the compressor outright, you could match it up to the exhaust wheel of your choice and have a reputable builder balance it for you ,in the housings of your choice... $$$$ usually can buy a lot of things.....

Auh,on that note, a Fans blades a fan Blade, someone will just have to get brave a mate the two...8^)..Guess my Persision GT-71's,stock mount, oiling an cover i got year ago's out dated already, they supposedly just came out

Enjoy!

If you bought a turbo two months ago it's already out dated... the turbo world right now is changing at an astronomical rate. I can't keep up... it's all about cramming more air.
