I stopped by Cartek in Garwood NJ, they were dynoing a friend's twin turbo Z06 and doing the preliminary tuning. They had some trouble with the boost controller, but still managed 1016 RWHP and 940+ RWTQ:eek: I can't wait to see this thing at the track, should be at Atco or E-town within the next 2 weeks. Here's a copy of the dyno sheet:

Is it a C5-R block, iron block, or production aluminum LS1/LS6?

Stock aluminum block, ported LS6 heads. Forged pistons though, and the block was honed. They were getting boost creep, so they didn't push it, but this week should see a little more power after working those bugs out.

That is some insane power. I have a friend that has a twin turbo C5 that runs 10s @ 136-138 mph and gets 30 mpg. He drives it to/from florida over 2K miles round trip a few times a year. The shop that worked on my Turbocharged 99 GT installed a twin turbo kit on an 01 SS that went high 11s(street tires) @ 126 mph on 93 octane and 8 psi with the rest of the car stock. If I could afford one in the next few years, I plan to get a 01+ C5. Saw and sat in a new C6 today and I'm not a huge fan of the new look.

30 mpg... I call bull$hit! NO way!

They had a big deal in a major rag several years back (can't remember which one) took everything they had to make a small block get 30 mpg and it only had 135 HP or somewhere close to that - it was rediculously low.

20 with a V8 would be pushing it...

NJVetteGuy - that is some awesome power!

I guess you are not familiar with how aerodynamic the C5 body is and the .50 6th gear ratio in the T-56 6 speed. Hell, I was getting 20 mpg with my 10 sec turbocharged 99 GT with 66 lb injectors cruising with the A/C on. Accel Gen VII DFI running sequential and not batch fire made the tuning easy for performance and highway cruising. We have to bring you up to speed with technology. :D

I have the video I made at Englishtown of the first 10 second pass on the bone stock longblock. It was also on the cover and in a 5 page article in 04/02 Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords.

Um, also look at the highway rating for the C6 Corvette. I believe its 28 mpg with a 6.0 liter V8 making 400 hp.

"up to speed with technology"... where's the FU smiley when you need it:D :D

I can see 20 even 23-24... but not 30. I still cry BS

I don't in any way doubt your times or power - just that a 10 second car is getting 30 mpg... I think your friend is fudgin the numbers a little :D :D :D

Are you serious?

uh oh... I may be removing my foot from mouth here in a second...

That technology crack may be warranted:(

lemme see if I can find somthin

WOW! it is rated @ 28 highway...

Holy $hit where have I been??

I concide - bull$hit withdrawn. I obviously jumped out of my bounds on that one:D Sorry

When/where should I report to class there Mr Marc?

Hey, he could be FOS, but the damn car still runs 10s on pump gas and is reliable enough to make long trips any time of the year. I love my GN, but I miss hazing the tires from a 50 mph roll. I'm sure the Vette mentioned in this post could probably do that at 100 mph quitte easily.

I would be happy with my GN running low12s/high 11s At 115+ on pump gas.

Wait!... Wait!... you said he could be FOS... I still have a chance!

I need gas reciepts and... and pictures of the odometer.... and and ... a sworn statement and... and ...

Tell you what - next time I'm in town I'll swing by and drive it myself:D

Then... I might just need to drive it some more:D :D

then we'll see who's right...

30 mpg on the highway from a C5....doesn't sound that hard to me. 20...pushing it? You are out of touch my friend.

I'd be willing to bet that stock block has been resleeved with Dartons and running 427"

Running that kind of HP, it may have been wise to upgrade to the C5r Block.

My Z06 with a 427 C5r Block runs 10's and gets a hair over 28mpg with the cruise set in 6th gear.

You must not be too familiar with the efficiency and aerodynamics and gearing of the C5's.

I would not have believed it either till I experienced it myself
