Hello all,

Just wondering if there is any reason to continue paying much more for Ultra 94 to use with the alky when I can save money using regular with the alky system.

Thanks alot for your help,

Ravi

The higher the octane, the less chance of detonation. Tho plenty of us get tremendous results on 93 or less.

If your running 30+ PSI.. I would stick with the 94 :D every little bit helps. For mid 20's.. save your money.

Assumming you have a system capable to deliver enough volume to get rid of the detonation.

I know that when the military was using reciprocating engines, gasoline was rated in 2 octane ratings. 115 / 145 - 100/ 130, these were leaded gas & I don't know what the difference would be with unleaded gas. I do know the low rating was without alcohol injection & the high rating was with alcohol.

It looks like the popular TR alcohol kits are good for approximately 15 points difference with unleaded gas.

This may not be the best answer to your question, however you can use this information to help you in any endeavors concerning alcohol injection.
