I'm stuck inbetween these 2 awesome machines and just can't figure out which one I want. Anyone on here have both?

I got both, and know more about the syty's than buicks.

Similar in they both have turbo v6's, but IMO that is where it stops.

Ignore the turbo part of them, and base your decision ignoring the engine is probably my best advice.

Syty's launch out of hole like nothing else, buicks pull and don't stop.

Shoot me an email if you got questions on the syty in particular.

I posted on SyTy.net about this comparison also and they all say buy both hehe. But they do say if you want that feeling like no other out of the hole go with the Ty. But they also say that neither of them are that reliable. Anything true about that? Of course if you turn up the boost too much you are bound to have something go BOOM.

Buick is By FARRRRRRR more relieable than a SY/TY...
Ty's a not fun to work on ,,,no room in the engine comprtment..
Sy/Ty's are nice ,,but I have NOT seen a nice set of Rims on any of them,,Buicks ALL rims look awesome..

Heard the SY/TY rattle like crazy...

guess who gets of the line first SY/TY but so do most vettes

But guess who is waving byebye after 60ft :) me

No offense to the SyTy guys, but if you want to maintain your sanity AND go fast, get the Turbo Regal. I've been down the Typhoon route......

Jim

there isn't a sy/ty on the planet that will launch with a properly set up TR......on the street they may be ok, but at the dragstrip, they suck!

(the fast sy/ty's are 2 wheel drive:) )

if you wanna go fast, get TR

wantan87,

Youre a tard for the following reasons:

1. Only ONE person on the syty board (hes a noob for the most part) said they "heard that the buick engine was unreliable" and I eductated him.
2. Everyone else on the syty board in one way or another, including me, told you to get whichever one your ability and wallet could support.
3. What kind of responses are you expecting when you ask each prospective group of enthusiousts which is better? Thats like asking the vette crowd if they like vettes
4. Most car guys actually know what they want and dont need anyone else telling them what car to buy. The only ppl that have to ask other ppl what car to buy are ppl that couldnt change a flat tire if their life depended on it and only know that when they push the little pedal on the right it makes the car go  .

Heres the thread for you guys that care. Notice 99 out of 100 syty ppl basically said get the buick if want reliability?

Properly is all a matter of opinion and $$.

Not sure what 60ft's you think are good, but to me a 1.6-1.7 on a stock truck is not bad.

Add some tweaks, tires, and 1.5's are possible with a good driver.

And don't we drive on the street more so than the track? Atleast some of us do.

If I wanted a pure race car a syty wouldn't be my choice anyways. :D :D

Like I have said before, they each have good and bad features to them. To say one is better than the other is all a matter of opinion.

SyTy rods are weak
Buick oiling system and cam is garbage

List can go on, and opinions can all be thrown in here.

Debate will probably go on forever.

Is all personal preference.

BTW, I find the syty just as easy to work on as buick. Good part is the hood isn't as long as the titanic to lean over, justtakes some time to adjust.

Hey Myclone I can't change a tire on my ranger (well without a 3 1/2 ft breaker bar :) Shop torqued them on too much.)

Seriously though, What Myclone said was right. It isn't so much about what everybody else thinks about the Sy/Ty or the Turbo Buicks its what you feel about them.

I respect the buicks and like the sleeper looks of the T-types and such, and the Grand National looks awesome in Black :), but at the end of the day I'd rather be behind the wheel of a truck then a car (unless the car happens to be a 68 z/28 someday I promise I will own one). I'd rather have a Syclone, so that is what I'm looking for.

Thats just me though, just like everyone here drives a buick or a Sy/Ty not because it fassionable (today I believe it is more correct to put the big fart cannons, stickers and four foot bike racks (spoilers)), but because inside they love that particular car for their own reasons.

Just my .02
Sean
