I work with a guy that has a KZ 1000 "highway patrol" bike for sale if anyone is interested. I don't know how much he wants for it, but I wanna say it's less than. 2k. Not sure what year it is, but I know it's an ex-patrol bike.

hello KWIKR1; I'am surprised your still alive after owning a H2 in high school. I had a 1970 H1 when I was out of high school and I still did some stupid high school ****. But besides being fast as hell the brakes sucked (mine did anyway drums F/R) and they did'nt handle. You put all that togeather and a young person your in for trouble. Todays jap bikes are still fast as hell but the brakes and handling all evolved to making them safer but in the wrong hands very dangerous.
Glad to here you made it but I still love the sound of a triple 2 stroke with expansion chambers. Oh I also had a triple Suzuki with chambers.

I had a KZ650 1976 I bought in 1978 and drove it until I bought a 1983 Honda 750 Intercepter I still have that somewhere around here. :p

Had the 650 up at UConn great commuter bike easy to hide in the bushes to avoid parking tickets.

Somewhere around 50mpg from what I remember during gas wars #2.

Kerker and jets and K+N's are all you need. Well at that age, maybe some carb. rebuild kits. too. ;)

I had a 1985 GPz 550 from the late 80's through the mid 90's. Although I have had faster, quicker, and bigger bikes, the 550 GPz remains my favorite as it was flickable and very mild mannered but would still scoot when asked to. It was also very comfortable and rode smoothly.

Mine had the "digital dash" on the gas tank which showed fuel level and a few other things I cannot recall any longer.

Scot W - are you still dirt biking with the family? If so, I might call and pick your brain.

One of my friends had the KZ1000R Eddy Lawson replica (which I used to get to ride in the mid 80's). Now that bike was a handful and downright squirrelly. Fast, but scary at times - as the engine was well ahead of the suspension.

I must of had a guadian angel on the back of that bike each time I went out on it . The thought of my own 17 year old son riding something that stupid fast that really did not handle very well , sends a chill down my spine . I did some pretty stupid crap at that age on that bike . The engine was far from stock I had a few mods done to it . and it was finished in a Custom Candy Apple paint with hand painted gold pinstriping and lettering . It was a knock out drop dead good looking bike for it's day . I nick named it " The Buzz Bomb " . it sure filled the adrenalin rush I was looking for at that time . :D Just something about those old H2's , H1 's KZ/Z1900's and 1000's back then . the way they looked , sounded, smelled and rode . I guess it's just like a old car . to this day I'll never forget that smell and sound when I would fire up that 2 stroke engine on a cold morning and snap the throttle to warm it up . it would make my heart pound faster . LOL :D

I got a great deal on it back then . it was one of those "need money fast" deals from the seller who was a friend . I bought it just after it was assembled being custom painted . the seller owed a lot of money to a group of bad people who rode American made bikes . :D :)
