I am trying to see if I can get a charge I recieved about 5 years ago expungged from my record and was curious if anyone in here had any legal experience so I could ask them a few questions, I am also looking for an affordable attorney around the dfw area if anyone knows of anybody.

Thanks,
Joshua

I'll ask my brother who he used, he is still in process but is having another hearing after serving a year of probation and completing his community service to try to get the rest of his probation period dropped and get the charge changed from a felony to misdemenor...not sure if you can get a charged dropped altogether but its sounds like it customary to get it changed according to what my brother has told me, but may depend on the offense...his was related to carrying/display of a weapon. It was here in the DFW area.

My charge was similar, (displaying a gun) but it was almost 6 years ago. I got 5 years probation and I completed it without any problems, I have friends who have had charges expunged from there record so that it will not show up during a background check, which is what I am trying to do. I am trying to get a hazmat permit (for a cdl license) and dont think that they will give me one with this charge on my record, so am trying to do anything I can to ge it remove. If you could findout who he is using that would be awsome.

If anyone else can help I would definitley appreciate it.

Thanks,
Joshua

Pardon

Your Govenor can recommend a full pardon if it was a state charge you recieved. It almost always goes thru the Pardon board before it reaches the govenor unless you have political connections to cut thru the red tape. You would have to contact your state Pardon board. Read this, it should point you in the right direction.

Hey Joshua, my brother's attorney was Mark Daniel, he's in FTW at 115 W 2nd St, Suite 202. He was told by several referals that he was very good at getting these types of things removed from the record. My brother siad that once the probation is cut in half and complete that this was the next step to get it expunged from his record. From what he said, only the police would know it ever existed or if you were getting a job at a mint.
