Anybody here from Long Island/NY?

My daughter just got a job in Long Island and needs a place to stay in a couple weeks. Typical rents on Craigs List looks like around $900/month including utilities. Would be best if she doesn't have to sign a lease in case the job doesn't work out for some reason. I looked at Extended Stay Hotel and they are $100 night just like any hotel, except they have a kitchen. Any suggestions? This is her first real job after graduating from Syracuse University. She will have her car and will probably buy furniture when she gets there. No she doesn't need a male roommate. Thanks.

I would contact the Extended stay by phone and let them know approximately how long she will be staying there. They will give a much better rate for monthly vs nightly stays. Most of the better hotels will do this as well, they are used too executives staying for long periods.

Yes I did that and it is still way too expensive. I guess that is why businesses charge so much for their products/services. Similar to expensive plane tickets that only businesses can afford to pay.
