I work at Toyota and have done PDI's on them and even tho I really don't care for them, I must say they drive pretty well. Interior is meant for getting dirty as it is plastic and rubber. Too "Robo Cop" looking for me. Zero customer complaints that I know of. They all love them. There is a version out that doesn't have the white top and I think it does look a little better than the traditional style. I just would never buy one. Hope this helps.

One of my co-workers (single 20 something) has one and likes it. He says it gets about 18 mpg.

I personally think the back seat is like solitary confinement in a prison, and if you have kids (unless they are light sensitive) or will ever have back seat riders, avoid it.

I was going to make a similar comment. I also work for Toyota so I've been around quite a few of them, and the interior seems claustrophobic to me. Seems like a bad idea to have limited visibility in a truck aimed at offroad/trails. Literally I'll sit inside one in our shop which has a skylight + flourescent lights and it's freakin dark inside the car.

On the other hand they've been building one up on SpikeTV's Extreme 4x4 show lately and they seem to think it's a decent product.

They drive good, have nice features, decent styling, so really the only negative off the top of my head is the interior.

So make sure you check it out first and it just depends on what type of driving you'll have to do it in. I'd be scared trying to make a lane-change in Chicago with an FJ.

Also work at Toyota. Visibility is somewhat compromised, seems to have some blind spots. Looking out the front windshield is similar to looking through a mail slot.
Great truck, it just seems like you're inside a tank looking out a slot.
Three front wipers in the rain make me nauseous, feels like you're seeing double.
