Actually it means stranded copper wire, not solid. You would need to take the conduit off the factory harness, and remove any harness tape to access the wire. The plug-and-play adapter should have come with the wire, and a terminal on one end, that you place into the C100 bulkhead after removing the resistance wire. Then, within about 6 in. from the CCCI connector, the resistance wire splices into a regular piece of copper wire. You cut it off there, splice the new wire into it, then button up the harness again.

PS Use harness tape, not black electrical PVC tape.

Just installed the hotwire adapter in place of the plain adapter. Was hoping it would solve my start up issue but, no luck. Moving on to the cam sensor next, which is the final thing to be gone over, but I will say this. The hotwire kit is so much better than just the adapter alone. Here's why:
A: No need to work on the resistor wire, its already done. (Or do I still need to do that?, not sure)
B: It has the direct battery connection as well to draw the extra juice
C: Has its own relay with a fuseable link which will fry if anything goes wrong instead of the connector itself
Granted, most folks probably never had any problems with the plain adapter and all that extra shit is uneccesary, but for a simpleton like me, it seemed much easier to just install the hotwire one then to go through the trouble of bypassing the resistor wire. Again, not sure if I still need to do that? Thanks for all the help and info guys. I'm learning something new about this wretched bitch everyday, and will eventually be happy with this marriage yet!
