Anyone know about Audi A4 turbos?

My ladyfriend has one and claims to be running 18psi via her new chip. Brand new 03 A4 with a 1.8 turbo. Is 18psi possible on this thing?

yup

bet it has about 225hp too. they are very nice to mod. great engine(if the coils don't crap out) they have a recall on the coils btw(and if she is chipped and they hook up the vas to it....bye bye warranty too!)

Wow...when she said 18psi I figured she was misinformed. I want to hook a boost gauge up and see what it says. How can that car run that high when ours cant? Do aluminum components really make that much difference?

i don't know about aluminum

but it is the most modern turbo engine you can buy. 5 valves per cylinder, dual knock sensers, variable valve timing. it has it all/ they put the same engine in tt's and with twin intercoolers, they lay out 225 hp! not uncommon for tuners like APR, wetteraur and
tap to get 400hp with mionr mods on a stock shortblock.
