anyone have this problem? like people who dont know anything about GN's or TT's they see your car and act like its just some old crappy buick?? i show some people my car and tell them what i paid for it and they think im an idiot :( oh well what can you do..

yah i get "its a monte carlo" alot but i just laugh at the people and tell them "its a grand national" and they are amazed because they never herd of the car

I have that same problem but when I take them for a ride there opinion totally changes.

Yeah, my wife. :(

I get that **** all the time. Especially from the opposite sex. They wonder why I paid so much money for a stupid buick with bad paint and a "missing pieces" interior. They just don't understand I guess.

If you have a good clean car like the last guy than all you get are smiles :) and questions. If it's real clean and mean than a few jaw drops too.

I'll say this about that...... these cars do look outdated. Big rectangular boxes, you know right away they are "older". Kinda like what a 50's car looked like to me. When your car is not really clean it makes it worse and people loose respect in a hurry. You can avoid some of it by having a really clean nice looking ride but either way some people just look at them as boxes.

All the MILFs i know love the Buick because it reminds them when they where the dish in their day. Now they only have to look forward to is memories. ;)

Perfect or not I don’t care what people think. Back in 87 when I was in high school the GN was the muscle car to have, just like the Corvette was to my father. The GN may be starting to look out dated, but only up until recently. I’m not a Ford guy but you have to admit they did do good with the Mustang.

Try this

I always tell people who look at me funny when I tell them about the price of a 1987 car. I simply ask them "what are you driving now," no matter what there reply, unless a collector car, I say "Will your car be worth more or less in 2 years?" When they answer "less" I tell them "See my will be worth MORE :D :D in the future." Them tell to go check e-bay and see what the think then.

LOL

And they like it...

Went to the local car show hangout in Va Bch on Saturday. I was surprised how many good comments and interested people asking questions there were. :)

That is the look I get from the Honda kids. They look at it like they finally found a car they can beat. It irks me that a dork in an econobox clown car thinks he has the right to be all bad.... until the green drops. Then I am not as irked.

Same thing happened to me on the way to work this morning...older guy with his wife in their new honda looking in wonder at my TR thinking how the heck could something that ugly/boxy be that fast after he tried my patience... :)

Once, in the staging lanes, I overheard a conversation between the owner of a 2nd gen Camero and his g/f. The g/f syas, "What is a big old car like that doing here racing?" Her boyfrined replied, "Honey, that thing is gonna' kill me." Her reply, "That?"
