Anyone run HKS SS blow off valve?

I realize not many turbo buick owners run blow off valves. Why is this? I know they are not entirely needed, but hell....they sound good. I was thinking about putting the HKS super sequential on my car car. Any input on this idea?

go for it. It will save the turbo in the long run. Like at the end of the track when you lift at high boost...that's hell on a turbo.

I have an ATR BOV and it still has "turbo flutter", doesn't always completely vent when letting off throttle.

After installing my BOV I was getting BLM's in the low 90's, when coming to a stop and pulling out from a stop. Just for a few seconds and the car would act like it wanted to shut off. Don't know why the BOV would cause this but ever since I disconnected it everything's been fine.

the atr sounds like it's not a big enough valve...and the other scenario sounds like you have it set too loose. BOV's aren't a bolt up and go deal...there's some fine adjustment that needs to be done.

Yeah, the BOV caused that. It results from premetered air leaving the system without going through the combustion process. Putting the MAF post BOV can handle this.

Thanks for an explanation, I will try to re-route it through the system somehow. I had my brother-in-law weld the adapter on to my up-pipe of my PTE super stock intercooler. So either I get my hands on another up-pipe or come up with some other idea. I asked about this before I did the install and I was told I wouldn't need to do it, go figure.

I got one on my car [HKS s/s bov] with NO problems - love the look and the sound.... its way better then the sound of air slappin against my compressor wheel...but thats just my opinion... let the flames begin as there are alot of people on this board that hate bov's

What size HKS BOV are you running?

What do you mean what size? Its a HKS Super Sequential Blowoff valve. That is the model. There are not multiple variations.

i just got a factory 2002 subaru wrx bov for 10.00 on ebay and going to put that on and route the air back before the maf so car don't stumble when i let of the gas like it does now.
