there are some good threads on this subject. do a search and read up:D

Hey quick6 i appreciate the info and the link.

Hey banning i would just like to know what you think of the turbo in general such as, turbo lag , response ,driveability and comparsion to your old turbo. The bottom line what you got to say about it overall pros and any cons if you have any. thanxs

randy:D

Like I said before, I don't have many street miles on the car with the new turbo... but that should change come thanksgiving as I'm taking the car with me to Daytona for two weeks.

Compared to my old PT51, this is what I've noticed...
- Killer pull at boost. Even as low as 18psi. :)
- With my "0" pump Vigilante, it'll still spool quickly on the street, and DEFINATLEY at the track. My car has always gotten good 60' times, but even with this MUCH larger turbo I still managed to run a 1.53 with a 6psi launch.

stall speed

hi banning-

what stall vigalante are you using.....im bulding a similar combo and want to get the right stall to avoid lag

Hey banning thanxs for the info answer some of my Q again thanxs for the info .

Hey wheezy the 67 is a 3 bolt set up , but i figure harry and the guys could set up a 4 if you want it.

10.90s at the boost banning is running you wouldn't need a 4 bolt. Nice runs buy the way.

It's a 3 bolt.

The "0" pump vigilante I'm running is about 3,200 stall. It works with my combo, but I'm sure a higher stall convertor wouldn't hurt.

Banning,

How much boost did it take you to achieve the 10.90? By the way, good talkin with you in the lanes, car looked great. Seems we both had a mission we were on, congrats on the 10 second timeslip.

Thanks Jack. Congrats on your run!

I was runnig 24psi for the 10.97 run.

I think on a fresher motor, the car would of gone faster. I'm working on about 200 1/4 mile runs with this motor. I think a leakdown test is in order. :)

I ran several 11.06 runs earlier on in the day at 20-21psi, but my fueling was all messed up and I was way lean (no KR though on ANY run of the day). On those lean runs, I only had the single 340 pump going. I saw a max EGT of about 1750 EGT, and knew I'd have to try something different. I have a external bosch pump that's on a second feed, so I ended up using it... however it ended up richening things up a LOT. I'd turn it on just before the 2/3 shift when I'd see EGTs around 1580-1600, but once it would kick in, it felt as if it was really killing my top end charge and was slowing me down. Perhaps I'll just tune the car with the 2nd pump on all the time? Maybe set up some sort of Hobbs switch to activate it at a set boost level? A larger fuel return line might be in order as well... we'll see.

Banning,

congrats on the 10 sec. slip are your heads fully ported or just touch up .I just wonderin because i'm freshen up my car 1st of the year and thanxs for the really good info on the 67.

I ported the heads myself. They are a 8445 casting and utilize the stock valve (which I had backcut). I'm not a professional head porter, but had one look at them throughout the process. Everything checked out in the end. Enough so that *I* would say that they are "extensively" ported... or at least just about as much as you can do with a stock sized valve and without going crazy and reshaping the intake ports with epoxy, etc.

I had about 36 hours in the heads and intake manifold work.
