Wow, I just checked the nozzle I put in and is it ever dirty. The little screen is just covered in brownish crap. What is that? The residue from the alcohol? How often do you have to flush out the nozzle screen? Is there any way to combat this?
I run a 50/50 alcohol and distilled water mix.

Hmm, that shouldn't be there. I have checked mine several times over the years and have never had that issue. You sure you haven't contaminated the tank with anything somehow? Sounds like maybe some kind of oil or gasoline got into the mix.

I am using the windshield washer reservoir and it looks clean. I am not even using any type of lubricant in the mix.
Any other ideas?

Anyone have any comments on this? Could the lube I am using cause this? I think I used WD40 in the reservoir, just a few squirts.
Thanks

The problem is you list a DIY kit, meaning there is no way of telling what parts your using, what fittings, what pump, what hoses, filtration if any, etc..

So will alcohol by itself do this? Answer is no.

Can alcohol react to a certain part of your system creating this? Absolutely.

May not be the answer your looking for but hope this helps.
