 that's a big turbo. my lil 67dbb will be here tuesday :D got a FAST system to go along with it as well.

Damn it I cant wait, I also ordered a 6776BB from Full throttle and cant wait for it to get here.

I've had this turbo on my car for 6 months now but never got a chance to play with it because the snow hit and had to put the car away. I can tell you it spools excellent even with a 3200 stall. It sounds ridiculous with the ported shroud H-cover as well:biggrin:

I done a stall speed test with my new PTE-70GTQ BB turbo. Holding the car with the brakes, I nailed the throttle and when the boost hit 15psi I let off. I have a RPM recall tachometer and max RPM was 3700.

How long did it take to reach 15 psi. What converter?
Thanks for the info.

Convertor

What convertor was the 3700 stall? How is the spool on the street? What would work better a Lock up or non lock up with the 70 GTQ BB?

The converter is a Precision Vigilante. I believe it's one stall speed higher than a "0" pump converter. I don't have a part number because it's about 9 years old. I do know that a #7 stall (part #239725) is way too loose because that one will stall 4400rpm at 10psi of boost with my old TE70 P trim turbo.

As far as time to reach 15psi...I didn't time it but it probably took about 4 seconds. I should have data logged it but didn't think about it at the time. I can say that it spools just as well as my old turbo it replaced. You won't be disappointed with the spool time when staging at the drag strip. I may try even a lower stall in the future.

you will be very happy with that set up I run the same turbo witha big stuff system. Very little road time witht the new set up but on a very concervative tune the car made over 500 rwhp with 20lbs of boost. Good luck with youre new turbo.

THE TURBO ARRIVED TONIGHT! will pop it on this saturday. the FAST system ships tomorrow so hopefully will be here by saturday as well. hopefully the weather is as nice next week as today. will post pics and hopefully a nice video clip as well.

detroit, what else u have done to ur car? stock heads cam or what? i'll be installing my ported irons with big valves and roller 212/212 cam this summer to go along with the turbo but will be running the 67bb on low boost until then. what kind of trq numbers did u put down? low boost 500+rwhp sounds pretty nice to me. break the 600+trq mark?

Greg

wow, put the turbo on and am still running a TT alky chip until my fast system arrives next week. at 18 psi the car pulls better than my 6152 at 25. the spool up is much quicker and snappier. will turn the boost up to the low 20s tonight and see how it is. where's the sweet spot on this thing? my nitto 555r's seem to be putting it down pretty well still, anything over 40 mph i can hit it and hook right up. idk how more boost will do but no big deal got a set of m/t drag radials that i will mount up next week. will try and get some #'s next month before the heads cam install and after. will post em up. o yea, this thing is freaking LOUD! maybe it's just the dbb's but with the dump closed u can hear it a mile away still, with it open... we shall see. thanks for the help on the decision, i think i made the right choice.

God I cant wait, Mine will be here Monday, New headers will be done at the same time, New I/C piping ect...Maft Pro is already installed, just got done with the F-Body radiator and Ram charger fans, should be a whole new ride this year. I cant wait to install my turbo. Sounds like its gonna be 1 badass upgrade.

Yep, she's a screamer.
Boost range on the 6776R is 17-29. Although others have run higher, the charge temps start to creep up past 29. But, with alky, just keep turning it up until it stops making hp and or mph, or until you run out of fuel or join the DOTC club. If it were me, I wouldn't push it past 35. Psst? Don't tell anybody, but the sweet sweet spot is 23-28.
;)
The 7080RH is a whole different animal tho.

Have fun and drive safe. Don't let that new turbo get you into too much trouble now. And if any Import challengers pull up asking what size turbo you running, just tell them it's a 50 trim. LOL

What the differents between the one from fullthrottle and the one from hartline.

bumped the boost up to 19 psi today. pulls pretty well to say the least. gonna wait for the fast system before i crank it up to the 25 ish range. can't get over how loud this thing is though, screamer is an understatement. the spool up is awesome too, like i said much quicker than my old 61mm. m/t drags and FAST system will be on next week, should be a good week.

Greg

Technically, if you are referring to the 6776RS or 6776RH, I can only assume that both Full Throttle and Hartline both order this turbo from PTE. With that said, there should be no differences, other than the letters.
GT, PT, hey maybe Cal and Holly can start calling their turbos HP, short for Hartline Performance.

HP7080RH has a nice ring to it. ;)

i think i found the sweet spot for the 6776dbb turbo. 28 psi 93 & alky NO KNOCK whatsoever. the car pulls like a raped ape. will be needing my new mickeys soon because the nittos under 40 mph go into smoke. think i made a great choice, highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade.

greg, how fast can you go with that turbo is it a high 9's turbo or more like low 10's ? sorry just trying to get as much info as i can before i buy. thanks

they say low tens but no doubt in my mind the 67dbb has a high 9 capabilities. i will have some dyno numbers this may with the turbo at high boost (27-29psi) on stock unopened block tuned with a fast system. anyone know who's gone the fastest on a stock unopened block?
