There are tons of posts in the general tech section every day that are about various different things. If I don't have any useful info about the question asked I don't post. And In my opinion "hiding" my plate would be to cover or obscure it from the thousands of people and law emforcement that I encounter every day, not preventing a camera from flashing my car .023 seconds after a solid red at a rate of speed of 30-35 miles an hour. Myself, my girl, my 68 Yo grand father and my father have all gotten one of these camera tix in the last 4 weeks. I know the city is broke but come on.

I just want to say you are right.... If I didn't like the section you posted in I shouldn't have responded. You are also right about "hiding" your plate you were not trying to do that at all.... I didn't know NY had the fastest lights in the US when changing from yellow to red that give you no time to stop... With that said, none of these "hyped" products will help you with your situation unless you want to go with something that will actually "hide" your plate like Chrisk posted.

They make a thing that covers the lic plate. When you close to it,it looks like a mirror but when you are far away, you can see through it.Its so that when the cameras take a picture its just a mirror and they cant see the plate.I know people that have it on their cars and it works. My friends that have it live in NYC so they don't have any problems.Cops even pull them over to ask them where they got it from

Then slow the hell down.

Somebody obviously never drove in nyc anywhere,on top of the lights being a few foot apart, they change lightning fast,by the time you see yellow its turning red already.:eek:I feel your pain transdamm I live in pa but go to nyc in the truck 3 or 4 days a week.

So knowing this, there's still a problem? How did we ever evolve?

There is an on line map of camera locations.

I have driven an 18-wheeler around NYC a handfull of times. I never had an issue, but I wasn't inside the city just the Bronx area on a pass through.
