What kind of charge temps can be achieved by sparying methanol before throttle body, using PT101 on SBC??
Unlike (Invisiblesun) I would still use race gas as primary fuel.

with a serious turbo like that I wouldn't think of anything other than an intercooler.

Air/Water intercoolers will provide the best cooling effect as your setup is a race car..... or a large air/air intercooler would be key.

I don't think alky/methanol will provide the cooling you will need and will be giving up power.

Just my 2 cents. If I had a serious SBC and honkin turbo like that it would be intercooled.

I took the stock intercooler off of my GN, and added a 7th injector to add fuel at the TB. Early testing had the MAT temps 10dF or so higher.

Granted the stock GN intercooler isn't that great, but I'm not done yet. Given some water injection, I think I can match the temps of the best intercoolers.

Do you have any evidence/experiences to back this up? Or are you just speculating here?

I would like to hear some experiences of those who have tried this on high horsepower engines, and what type of temps were achieved.
A turbo that size is capable of 1500hp+, I wonder if a large amount of methanol sprayed before the throttle body would cool temps enough?

Advantages to ditching the intercooler are the weight loss (a large air/water intercooler, water pump, lines, water reservoir and water all are quite heavy), as well as the slight loss of boost that you see with an intercooler.

I helped my buddy remove his stock intercooler from his syclone and we added a straight pipe and SMC alky kit.

We noticed much better spool, and he had to go from a 10 jet at about 80% up to 15 jet ~60% if I remember right.

Temps were about 20 deg higher, but the restriction was removed. (stock syclone intercooler is very restrictive imo).

He likes it, doesn't plan to switch back.

Music to my ears.........

Once you get rid of the fuel load need carried by the runners, etc that leaves room for other media to be added. Take a set of heads for a N/A and use them in a turbo application, and you all of sudden have LOTS of volume.
