Just wondering if anyone is using the oil stabilizer and for how long.?

Negative or positive results. :D

I like them
I use the stabilizer and the power steering stuff.
Both work seem to work great

I just added some of the oil stuff, haven't had any problems yet, but i can't say much for it other than it feels like it would be really good stuff

well ive used there power steering stuff fuel inj cleaner and the oil addititive, havent tore the engine apart or anything but it seems to work.
i think its one of those things, if it makes you feel more secure with it then go for it...lol

Hey I have mobil 1 in my rear right now but have two bottles of Lucas waiting to go in. I read on the Auburn Gear website that you should change the rear fluid every 7500 so I am thinking of using Lucas instead of Mobil 1 when I change it this time. Any pros or cons to this?

Also I use a bottle of Lucas every oil change. :D

For my daily driver S-10, I use 1/2 bottle at each oil change with positive results (better oil pressure, less oil leaks, no initial start-up noise). I also use the fuel treatment every 3-4 tanks and do get better average gas mileage. After 4 tanks, I notice that the gas mileage does drop off. I have also used their trans and power steering additives as preventive maintenance.

Well last night I used the Oil Stabilizer in the GN. What a difference! The valve train has always been noisy. Not anymore and the whole engine is noticeably quieter. Also no startup noise now.

So I said OK, I will use it in my daily driver (1997 Malibu). I have used either Mobil 1 or Amsoil in this car for its life. Again after using the stabilizer the engine is quieter and smoother.

I am extremely impressed with this product. I am sold on it. Going to use the fuel treatment next.

Thanks for all of the replys

Steve, I don't think so. But originally I was thinking the same thing. I don't just throw stuff in my engine. I have done a lot of research on this product. I have talked to race teams that use it. Motor Honey will sludge, this product doesn't seem to have that problem. Also it is a pure petroleum product.

The reason Amsoil is so much better than most synthnetics is that they use the purest petroleum based oil they can get. I believe Lucas is on the same track here.

Anyway all theory and conjecture here. The proof is in the pudding, I will continue to use it and see what the resullts are in the real world.

I wasn't a believer in Amsoil either when I first started using it. But after looking at my oil a month after I changed it in a car that is driven daily a few hundred miles a week( 90K engine). Seeing is believing The oil never turned dark.;)

Sounds like you are off to a good start. :)

How thick is it? So many of these things just make a heavier weight oil which will, of course, raise oil pressures, quieten valvetrain noise, etc.

Downside being slower circulation when cold, more power to turn the pump, and so on.

I know that lot's of truckers use it. I am always cynical about supplements, but, that does not mean that some may not work. :)

It's thicker than 30 weight but not gooey like the motor honey stuff
it's weird...it makes oil cling to things better. They have a killer demo contraption and some auto parts places...has a bunch of gears with a crank handle. (one with the lucas stuff one with regular oil) when you turn it you can see the lucas stuff cling to the gears AND it turns easier then the one with the non supplemented oil.

It even looks clingyer on the dip stick....

I use the oil stablizer in the rear end along with a tube of the slip additive and it has lasted longer than with out the stabilizer

I LIKE LUCAS synthetic 10W30 racing oil !

Exactly. I was also worried about the idea like Steve said about the product just making the oil thicker per say. But after running it in the engine I took some oil and looked at it. The oil didn't seem any thicker, but it definitely had a property to it that would increase it's ability to stay on bearings, dipstick, etc...

I have always used 30 or 40W in the GN. Steve you know, down here we don't need multi weight oils. Hell I've been to Eden it is hot over there. ;) he-he

Considering that is fairly thick oil, I would still have valve train noise. I am not saying one should use this to stop valve train noise. Make sure your lifter pre-load is correct as I did. But this Lucas stuff did help alot.
Now my engine is as quiet like a Small block chevy. :D

Also the fact that truckers use it is a good sign. I mean who puts more miles on their vehicles than these guys??

Some of these products do work. I mean Marvel Mystery Oil has only been around 90 years?? :) Stuff is great for sticky oil rings.
