Anyone using PTE's Accufab Plenum/TB combo? Need Info

Hi All:

Well, my next mod will focus on cleaning up the Plenum/TB area. I currently run a stock plenum and TB with a Power plate.
I was considering just having the stock stuff cleaned up a bit, but the matched, polished Accufab combo on PTE's site looks pretty trick.

For those of you running this setup:

1. Is this a simple bolt-on or is modification to existing parts required (for example, throttle cable bracket).

2. Will I need to recalibrate the throttle cable to ensure that the butterfly is opening as much as it should at WOT or is this accounted for in the new TB?

I'm not expecting a tremendous performance gain, but I figure that it can't hurt to clean up that bottleneck of the stock TB and Plenum.

Real quick, my combo is: TA49, 009's, all fuel mods, THDP, Mease bellmouthed IC, Testa 100 oct. chip, Big Mouth Cold Air, no cat, ATR SS exhuast, stock long block, blah blah blah.

I went from a stocker to a PTE 65mm upper and 62mm Jay Jackson modified stock TB and felt an increase in throttle response. I bought one of the first PTE uppers when they come out and argued with Joe Lubrant and PTE about the spacer block they supplied to space the throttle bracket up 5/8" but nothing to also space the vacuum lines up at the front. After hashing it out they agreed and supposedly made two spacers part of the kit. They sent me another one and it is a direct bolt on now. I would still check my TPS setting when done and make sure the shift points and TV cable is adjusted right. I have my JJ 62mm TB sold to a friend that wanted it and will be going back with an Accufab 70mm TB, power plate and have my upper taken out to 70mm. Hopefully I can gain 15 HP or so out of the mods.

Stupid question but.....

If I was on a budget, I could do the PTE plenum and PP and leave the stock TB in place for a time, correct? It'll bolt right on, correct?

Correct. With the advent of the PP I don't know if you really need the PTE upper but it may help volume-wise to have the taller plenum. TB opening allows more air in. More air in and out, more HP.

Thanks for the assistance. I'm gonna just do the PTE plenum and Power Plate right now, and do the TB later when funds permit.

The only real reason I was looking at the PTE plenum is because it's a nice polished piece, and by the time I bellmouth and polish the stock plenum, I could have had the PTE unit.
