Was wondering if there is anyway to put a distributor and coil on my 84 to make it get spark! If anyone has tried it please let me know the outcome

Norbs did it on one of his cars but took it off due to problems. He's running a FAST system though. Don't think it would work if you're using a stock computer,

Short answer: No, nothing that'd work with your accessory brackets and ECM.

Longer answer: Yes, lots of aftermarket EFI controlled race TRs run distributors. It requires considerable ignition wiring changes and an ignition controller (at least if you're using a billet small cap distributor with just a pickup inside, like the MSD units).

It won't work with the stock ECM, and won't fit with stock accessory brackets. I'm not aware of anybody who's making any sort of a kit to make this remotely close to bolt-in.

Thanks guys just lookin at anything to get this car running, bought it and it's just sitting I'm gettin sick of lookin at it

Haha sorry bout that I'm in midland tx, I know of few people here that have grand nationals, but I can't get any help from them!!

So, what exactly is the problem? Do you have injector pulse but no fire to the plugs? Has it always been this way or is it a new problem? Have you checked all your connections and fuses? I'm sure someone here can help given all the info.:)

Well I'm in Hillsboro And the Bergers are in Waco if you want to throw it o a trailer and bring it down.

I have fuel pressure as far as injectors, I know it's gettin fuel u can smell it big time turning it over. I have checked all fuses but not fusible links, I bought the car this way just no spark, on the injector module plug I only have 2 hot wires where I know it should have more than that I have changed harness and ecu, ignition module, coil packs and have a new crank sensor just haven't put it on I thinks it's something else

It was off when I got the car so I put it back on, no visible signs of damage, since I paid the 130 for the new one I guess I can install it. I saw on a picture that the ignition module plug has 4 wires 2 on each side that go to the coil wires so I'm assuming they r suppose to be hot and only 2 are so is that a possibility that it is in limp mode? The car is showing no codes by the way

BTW, swap meet at the nascar track in Fort Worth this weekend if you're interested.

Do you have some sort of scan tool you can hook up to it?

A scan tool that will hook up to multiple cars. OTC monitor 4000 is a good one and you can get them for around $150 or less on evilbay. Makes it much easier to find out wha's wrong.
